This checklist is a great tool to review current or initiate new interventions for recognition and prevention of CAUTI in your facility.
In July 2016, AHA/HRET HEN hosted a state hospital association meeting that celebrated the spread and sustainability of innovative hospital approaches for harm reduction. One hospital representative from each HRET HEN state hospital association produced a storyboard that detailed their approach to improve patient care.

The Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality, along with the HRET, launched a nationwide effort to implement the Comprehensive Unit-based Safety Program (CUSP) to reduce catheter-associated urinary tract infections in U.S. hospitals. This effort included an explicit focus on both the technical and socio-adaptive aspects of prevention. The results from the first four of nine cohorts of hospital units are described in the article below published by The New England Journal of Medicine.

The new compilation "Eliminating Harm Checklists" gathers evidence-based best practices, improvement strategies and action items along with checklists and resources that may be effective within your organization.
